Money News Roundup
If you only do one thing with your money this week...
See how much you could earn back just by taking time to compare credit cards offering cash back.
A cash back credit card will be suitable for you if you use your credit card primarily for purchases and you rarely, if ever, carry over your balance at the end of the month.
Use the American Express Platinum credit card for 5% cashback for the first three months and then up to 1.5% thereafter. You can get up to £200 during the first three months.
If you aren't eligible for a Platinum credit card, plump for the Egg credit card instead (offering as much as 25% back on some purchases!).

WILL cheaper oil mean cheaper bills this year? And where do money news and reality TV collide?
Cheaper Oil = Cheaper Bills?
SOME supermarket petrol pumps bought their petrol prices below £1 a litre, this week, for the first time in months.
But as yet there’s been no word on whether or not consumers will see a similar dip in their domestic energy bills.
Brand new watchdog Customer Focus has been on the case, calling for Ofgem to step in to force the energy companies to put down prices.
Don’t expect any huge changes this winter, though. Energy companies were quick to play down any changes.
Women get a raw deal on pensions
WE all know that women live longer than men (sorry guys) but according to research released this week, they also do it more thriftily – paying less for their pensions than men.
Fairinvestment.co.uk found that even taking into account their general lower earnings, women pay significantly less than men.
The survey found that the average amount paid into a pension each month in Britain is £64, far too little for the majority of pensioners.
Martin Lewis gives 110%
EVER wondered what personal finance celebrities think about when they’re watching reality TV? No, me neither.
But this week, readers of Martin Lewis’ Money Saving Expert blog found out anyway as he revealed that he has chosen his favourite X-factor contestant based on, erm, mathematical prowess.
Apparently, Lewis flies into a rage whenever celebrities claim to put in more effort than is mathematically possible – 110 or even, the scandal!, 200% - so he’s supporting JLS.
They may be crap but at least they’ll only ever give the contest 100%.
And Finally, if you only do one thing this week…
And finally if you only do one thing this week why not look into the money you could make if you took the time to compare credit cards offering cash-back.
A cash back credit card will be suitable for you if you use your credit card primarily for purchases and you rarely, if ever, carry over your balance at the end of the month.
That way, you’re making the most money you can and aren’t paying anything for the privilege.
Compare Choosemoney’s top cash back credit cards. For example, use the American Express Platinum credit card for 5% cashback for the first three months and then up to 1.5% thereafter. You can get up to £200 during the first three months.
If you aren't eligible for a Platinum credit card, plump for the Egg credit card instead (offering as much as 25% back on some purchases!).
