Where do I sign?
Before you get too excited about the Capital One range scoring highly in our best buy boards, bear in mind that they are all Platinum credit cards.

Don’t despair…
There are alternative credit cards for those who are not eligible for a shiny Platinum credit card, however.
Most so-called classic credit cards have less strict minimum requirements and so long as you have a decent credit history, you shouldn’t be turned down.
Failing that, there is a small family of credit cards that are available to just about anybody regardless of credit rating.
These credit cards for people with a poor credit history tend to have a much higher APR than standard credit cards and seldomly offer any special benefits (certainly no 0% introductory rates), but are a great way to prove you can be trusted with credit and start building up a decent credit history.
