MBNA are Bank of America's foot in the UK and, unlike other US-controlled brands like Goldfish, they've made a real impact in our competitive market offering some of the top introductory deals and issuing the popular Virgin Money and AA credit card brands to boot.
In 2011, however, Bank of America announced that it would be selling up the MBNA brand. The fate of MBNA credit cardholders isn't yet known.
