Please see below for more important information relating to the content of this page.
The Bank of Scotland All in One credit card markets itself as an "all in one" solution - and there certainly are situations in which combined 0% deals are useful.
This card offers 0% on balance transfers and purchases for 12 months. Additionally, the 'go to' standard rates of both these transactions are the same after the promotional period ends.
There is a 3% fee to pay on balance transfers.
Somewhat confusingly, HBOS is offering this deal identically under the Halifax brand with an extra month on both 0% deals: see our review of the Halifax All in One credit card for more.
This credit card offers 0% interest on balance transfers for the first 12 months, with a 3% fee.
There is no 'window period' on this deal by which balances must be moved to qualify for the 0% rate - but the 12 month period will start to run down as soon as the account is opened and not from when any balance is credited to the account for example.
0% for 12 months is now a mid-market purchases promotional length - with the top deals now reaching 15 months on some of the longest 0% purchases deals.
However, with many "0%" credit cards only offering 3-months on purchases, the card stands up well simply for offering equal length 0% deals on both balance transfers and purchases.
New cardholders can therefore transfer a balance to the card, and use it for new purchases as well without running into too many complications regarding what's getting repaid first or when interest will start to apply to one balance before the other.
Cash transactions on the other hand are not included in the 0% deal.
There aren't any credit cards available in the market, not that there ever have been either though, which include cash in a 0% promotion.
The thing to watch out for though is what constitutes a cash transaction, as the definition can be a little blurred with some purchases.
ATM withdrawals, foreign currency and traveller's cheques are obvious cash transactions. Less obvious ones include buying shopping vouchers, food or drink at casinos, lottery tickets, money transfers and bill payments such as mortgages and utility bills.
The Bank of Scotland All in One credit card offers an Internet fraud guarantee - so cardholders won't be held liable for any unauthorised transactions made online without their knowledge or consent as long as reasonable precaution was taken.
This is offered in addition to the maximum liabilities for fraud as set out in the Lending Code.
The Bank of Scotland also offer active fraud monitoring so they'll keep a watch over cardholder's accounts and get in touch if they notice any unusual transactions.
This does mean, however, as with other cards offering this service, its worthwhile letting the issuer know before planning on using the card abroad for example.
MasterCard SecureCode (3D Secure) is also offered, so cardholders can register a password for use with participating online websites as an extra layer of security.
The Bank of Scotland All in One credit card doesn't offer any additional purchase protection, however the card is issued under the Consumer Credit Act and so cardholders will be extended cover under Section 75.
See our guide on Section 75 for more on this, but it basically holds the credit card provider equally liable with the supplier if things go wrong (e.g. breaches of contract such as faulty or non-delivered items, or if the supplier goes out of business) - meaning there is an extra option for recourse.
The Bank of Scotland All in One credit card is a mid-market combined 0% deal surpassed by the issuer's own 'but-name' identical Halifax All in One credit card.

If you pay more than the amount due shown on your statement, they will use any remaining payment to pay off transactions that have not yet appeared on your statement in the same order as those that do appear on your statement. In this condition, "transaction" includes the amount of the purchase, cash advance, cheque, default sum or balance transfer plus any interest, fees or insurance payment charged as a result of that transaction.
