AFTER offering Sky Sports and Sky Cinema upgrades on discount for a while, Sky are now offering them to new customers for less than the regular price, for a limited time.

New subscribers can get 20% off the cost of either, or both, for 12 months with any TV bundle, until midnight Thursday November 3rd.

That brings the price of Sky Cinema down to £14.40 per month, and Sky Sports down to £22 a month, on top of the regular cost of the base bundle (Original, Variety, or Box Sets).

What's more, the 20% off "upgrade" is running alongside the offer Sky introduced last week, in which new customers get a choice of reward when they sign up to selected TV bundles.

Recent highlights on Sky Sports have included Sky Sports Ryder Cup, the introduction of live Premier League football in ultra HD, the darts World Grand Prix, and Bangladesh vs England Test Series cricket.

There's more cricket coming up this month in the form of the England vs India and New Zealand vs Pakistan Test Series; in Formula 1 there's the Mexican, Brazilian and Etihad Abu Dhabi Grand Prix to look forward to.

As well as featuring a world cinema premiere every Wednesday night, they've committed to running at least one themed channel takeover every month - in October we've had Sky Cinema Harry Potter and Sky Cinema Tom Hanks.

Details of the Christmas schedule are still largely under wraps, but we do know that Disney's Zootopia, the live action remake of The Jungle Book, and Captain America: Civil War will feature.
